Taylor and Ashley Franco of Franco’s Fleet might be relatively new to the RV rental market, but they don’t seem to be having any trouble renting through Outdoorsy. The couple has made about $10K in only 8 months of renting, and their business continues to grow.
How did the Francos get started in the RV rental business? As so many adventures do, it all started with a road trip. “We have a family reunion every year,” Ashley shares with us. “The tent accommodations were not cutting it anymore, so we decided to use Outdoorsy to rent a trailer.
“We had such a great experience both camping and renting with Outdoorsy that we decided to purchase our own trailer. We thought we would share the same experience we had, and our hope is that other people can have a similarly wonderful vacation!”
Ashley and Taylor chose to purchase an adorable Forest River R-Pod trailer. “We bought it knowing that we would rent out our travel trailer,” says Ashley. “Because we live in the PNW, we figured a smaller travel trailer would be the best option, as a lot of people need to be able to tow with a small SUV.”
Apparently, this was correct, and the trailer started getting rental requests only one week after it was listed. Since then, the Francos have added a second trailer to their fleet, a Winnebago Winnie Drop. Both of the trailers combined have gone out a full 22 times in the past 8 months, and there are more rentals in their future.
Obviously, Ashley and Taylor are doing something right. If you ask them, their success is due, at least in part, to their customer service. “We make sure to provide the best service possible,” Ashley explains. “We strive to keep communication open and often. We want to make sure the customer’s experience is most important, not the money.”
With as much success as they’ve had while renting their two trailers, Ashley and Taylor are hungry for more and are looking for ways to grow their business. “We would love to have 5 or 6 trailers to rent out and be able to have our business make as much money as a full-time job,” Ashley confides. “The first step we are taking is building an area on our property that will accommodate trailer parking. The space we are building would help us to park 3, maybe even 4 trailers for the future.”
