As a customer of Outdoorsy.com, I recently rented an RV from a host listed on the platform. Despite the host's apparent kindness, I regret to say that I cannot recommend renting this specific RV from this platform due to the host's failure to follow Outdoorsy's protocols to ensure that the RV was in full working order as advertised on the site. When booking an RV weeks in advance, customers inevitably spend a significant amount of time prepping and planning for their trip. However, upon arrival on the day the booking was to start, my family and I discovered that the generator and microwave were not working, which presented a significant inconvenience and forced us to choose between canceling the trip or taking the RV with broken equipment.Despite taking the RV, I have since had to engage Outdoorsy's mediation team to seek a justifiable discount for the unfortunate circumstances in which the host has failed to provide a fully functioning RV as advertised. This may result in arbitration.Additionally, the RV had a strong cigarette smell that was not disclosed by the host on the platform. While I understand that the host cannot stop people from smoking in the RV when they are away, it is important for customers to be aware that this specific RV is not recommended for non-smokers or those who do not wish to experience cigarette smells in their rented RV.As a first-time renter on this platform, I am disappointed with the host's unwillingness to compromise on any discount for the non-functioning equipment and the undisclosed cigarette smell, which is one of the many reasons why I will not be using this website again, let alone renting from this host.

We are sorry that you did not enjoy our RV but we are surprised at this review and the false accusations of the RV smelling strongly of cigarette smoke. I will agree the generator did not work when we did your walkthrough, which we were not aware of. Being that we had a conversation 2 days prior and you said you were going to utilize a full hook up campsite and said because you were hooked up to full electricity the generator not working wasn’t a big deal.As far as the microwave goes, it worked, it just needed to be plugged in. You called us that evening after arriving at your campsite, not the time of walkthrough as you stated, to say the microwave was not working. We advised you to contact outdoorsy and you chose not to because you again said it “wasn’t a big deal”.We were very willing to compromise a discount and offered you a refund of $125 and we also did not charge you for filling up the propane that was used. You did not agree that this was a reasonable amount and forced it into arbitration at which you did not show up too. It was the arbitrators decision that you would not receive a refund because you failed to prove this insignificant inconvenience.I understand you being upset but it is completely unacceptable that you say our RV smells strongly of cigarette smoke because you and I both know that is not the truth. You never mentioned this one time to us or outdoorsy when we started the arbitration process and you could give your full statement. It’s a shame you feel you have to over fabricate this story and insult us as a renter and outdoorsy as a platform in order to make us look unfavorable.
