The Purple Princess is a 1997 Winnebago/Volkswagen Class B motorhome. Some people say it's the best motorhome ever built. Only about 8000 of them were built before they were discontinued in 2005. This one has a very dependable, sweet-sounding Volkswagen 6-cyclinder motor, with excellent gas mileage, a low turning radius, and a host of amenities that say "Winnebago Quality." Its many features include a full-sized pull-down dining table, a very comfy pull-down queen-sized bed, two back benches, brand-new window coverings, and a TV. Although its propane system has been turned off because I don't think propane is safe to use, I have tried to make up for it by providing renters with two portable stoves and two thermoelectric coolers that you can plug into any of its three 12-volt outlets. It has AC in its cab area and a larger AC unit in the rear that runs on a heavy-duty, 20-foor shore power cable. It's a pleasure to drive, and is short enough that it's easy to park too. You can pick up or drop off the Purple Princess at the Ford Test Track in Windsor, at my home, or at the picnic area at the Tilbury OnRoute on Highway 401 East.
